The indoor heated swimming pool is a shared facility between Cherry Tree Cottage and us. It is just a short walk from the cottages and compliments the shared games room so there is plenty to keep everyone entertained.
The Pool hall was refurbished in April 2012 where we removed the old tired white painted timber frame that was clad in triple walled translucent sheeting and replaced it with a purpose made green oak framed structure glazed with argon filled double glazed windows and doors. The roof windows were also purpose made to ensure more light enters the pool area.
The Pool hall is accessed from the rear entrance door where there is a changing room with a shower, wash basin, WC and space to hang clothing etc has been provided. There is an adult seating area from where children can be supervised or where non-swimmers can just sit around the table and chairs provided and read a book or magazine.
The Pool’s heat is maintained by an oil fired boiler that also serves the main house and Pool hall’s radiators and the lighting is powered from solar panels and mains electricity.
We have endorsed the need for green energy and invested in solar panels on Cherry Tree Cottage and Carn House. The pool facilities are available from 9am through to 6pm daily, this can be extended by arrangement especially in the summer months should you find your day trip took longer than expected.
A booking system may operate in busier times for both pool and games room but we have found that most guests have generally managed without one.
The towels provided in in the cottage are intended only for use in the shower rooms so we would appreciate your bringing your own beach towels when using the swimming pool.
Our Pool Hall was featured in Cornwall Life Magazine in October 2012. Check out the article here.
